BUILD healthier relationships with God, self, and others

CHANGE
the world through
Christian discipleship and service

Each week the FirstLight Youth Ministry hosts gatherings to learn and grow as a community.  Our goal is simple: we desire to see students become disciples of Jesus Christ.

If you would like further information about youth happenings in the FirstLight Community, please contact Ben Simpson at FirstLight_YP@sbcglobal.net, or by phone at 913.626.4190.

[Confirmation]
At FirstLight students in the 6th-8th grade are invited to participate in Confirmation. Confirmation at FirstLight requires taking part in four happenings meant to foster growth and understanding as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Students will be instructed in the Christian faith and will be given space to practice what they have learned. On Sunday, March 30 confirmands will stand before the FirstLight community during worship to be confirmed.

Confirmation is a sacred and important time in the life of our students. We hope that you will be part of confirmation this spring!

“Relationships. Relationships

are good. Youth groups are

places where kids can

learn something about

relationships, about

friendships. They learn the

value of praying together,

working together, being

together, and serving

together. In healthy youth

groups they learn how to

be less cruel toward those

who are different; they

are confronted with a

gospel that asks us to

love each other—even

when the person to be

loved is uncool, ugly,

uncoordinated, overweight,

or a geek. That is good.

Very good.”
